Sheridan House: A Tulsa Multigenerational Home Inspired by Asia

We’re honored to share that one of our Tulsa interior design projects was featured in Green Country Living Magazine in the article “Multigenerational Sheridan Home Features Art, Artifacts from Asia.”

This luxury home renovation was thoughtfully designed as a gathering place for multiple generations and is a personal showcase of all the beautiful items they found while living overseas.

From 1998 to 2020, Bernie and Christine Sheridan lived in Beijing, traveling throughout Asia and collecting artwork, artifacts, antiques, and furniture everywhere they went.

In 2007, while still living overseas, the Sheridans purchased this Tulsa home. During that time, their daughter and her family lived there. When they moved back home in 2020, the family made the decision to create a multigenerational home. Today, their daughter and her family live upstairs and the main level was redesigned for shared gathering, entertaining, and everyday living.

Tulsa Multigenerational Home: The Design

Kirkendall Design had the opportunity to design most of the interior and exterior of the home, helping it feel more cohesive, functional, and personalized to the family’s story.

The renovation included extensive updates to the main living spaces, bathrooms, closets, and outdoor living of the property. The primary bathroom features marble floors, a free standing soaking tub, and walk-in shower.

The butler’s pantry features custom curved cabinetry, which complements the home’s collected aesthetic. An unused patio area was transformed into a dedicated wine room. We also redesigned the stairway to create a more refined architectural focal point.

Outside, the property was completely reimagined for gathering and entertaining. Kirkendall Design designed the outdoor living spaces, added a pool, and designed the detached garage to complement the architecture of the home.

What makes this Tulsa home renovation especially meaningful is how deeply personal it is to the family. Every room tells part of their story — from decades spent abroad to creating a home where multiple generations can continue building memories together under one roof.
