Kitchen Roundup

At Kirkendall Design, we believe a kitchen should be optimized for functionality but also feel personalized. It’s where mornings begin, holidays unfold, and everyday moments turn into beautiful memories. A well-designed kitchen must work hard — but it should also reflect your story and the way you live.

Over the years, our team has completed countless custom kitchen design projects and kitchen renovations in Tulsa and the surrounding areas. Each one is thoughtfully designed to feel timeless rather than trendy.

Today, we’re sharing a roundup of our latest kitchen designs — each one custom and unique to our client.

Wenmoor II Kitchen

Originally defined by heavy finishes and ornate detailing, the Wenmoor II kitchen felt dark and dated despite its grand architecture. Through a strategic renovation, the space was refreshed with simplified millwork, updated hardware, and striking quartzite surfaces that brought light and modern elegance into the room. The transformation honors the home’s classic estate character while giving the kitchen a cleaner, more timeless presence. It’s a subtle renovation with a dramatic impact.

Grand Lake Lakehouse Kitchen

This kitchen was part of a full lakehouse renovation on Grand Lake near Afton, Oklahoma. The kitchen layout was reworked to improve flow, with the refrigerator relocated and the island expanded to create generous prep space, seating, and hidden storage. Light-stained wood cabinetry, a custom aluminum-accented range hood, and Taj Mahal quartzite surfaces bring an elevated yet relaxed lakehouse feel to the space. Thoughtful details like a built-in coffee bar and beverage center complete a kitchen designed for effortless gathering and everyday living.

Yorktown Ave Kitchen

The Yorktown Ave kitchen renovation reimagined the home’s layout, opening the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Walls were removed to replace a closed-off breakfast nook with an oversized island, creating better flow and expansive views of the surrounding landscape. The kitchen footprint was expanded with a new walk-in pantry, adding more storage. It’s a layout-driven transformation that completely changed how the home functions and feels.

Greater Oakview Kitchen

This 1941 Midtown Tulsa home was reimagined through a thoughtful historic renovation. Major structural updates in the kitchen—including beam removal—opened the space and allowed for a fresh new layout that balances functionality with the home’s original character. The kitchen now features streamlined cabinetry, expanded prep areas, and improved flow, creating a bright and welcoming hub for family and entertaining. It’s a thoughtful blend of historic charm and modern living that feels entirely refreshed. See the full project portfolio here.

Forest Meadows Kitchen & Scullery

In our Forest Meadows renovation, the kitchen was completely reimagined to better serve family life and entertaining. The original bulky peninsula was removed and an unused bedroom behind the kitchen was transformed into a dedicated scullery for added storage and prep. The new layout optimizes connection to the living room, balancing practical upgrades with a refreshed, inviting aesthetic. It’s a smart reconfiguration that brings both style and functionality to this longtime family home.
