We are honored for our Hudson Place Kitchen to be featured in May’s TulsaPeople HOME issue. This project is a beautiful example of the value an experienced interior designer brings—helping homeowners reimagine the homes they already love through expert space planning, creative vision, and design that is both functional and beautiful.

Our clients had lived in this Tulsa home for years and wanted to stay, but their kitchen no longer supported their family lifestyle. They needed better function, more storage, and a layout designed for cooking, gathering, and daily ease.

Kitchen Renovation

We reimagined the space with dedicated cooking zones, a large working countertop, and an oversized island for prep and entertaining. A custom coffee bar beside the refrigerator features retractable doors that slide back into the cabinetry for a clean, open look when in use.

One of the most transformative changes was enlarging the windows on either side of the hood. Replacing the former clerestory windows with full windows brought in natural light and created a stronger connection to the outdoor living area just beyond.

Our clients came to us with an inspirational photo of a blue kitchen that they loved, and that color became an important part of the design direction. When it came time to select finishes, we paired stained lower cabinets for durability with rich blue upper cabinetry for color and personality. 

Storage was a major priority throughout the kitchen renovation. We incorporated pull-out spice storage beside the range, a concealed utility caddy, vertical tray storage, additional island storage, and custom cabinetry extended to the ceiling for maximum function.

At the center of the space is a GE Monogram Range with brass accents, framed by full-height tile extending from the countertop to the ceiling. Sconces on either side of the custom oak hood provide task lighting while adding to the elevated, luxury feel of the kitchen.

We replaced a bifold-door closet off the kitchen—which had been used as a pantry—with custom-built pantry cabinetry, creating a much more functional and usable storage solution.

Stairway Update, Sitting Room Refresh & Pet-Friendly Additions

Beyond the kitchen renovation, the project also included an updated stairway, refreshed sitting room fireplace with cast stone, and custom pet-friendly details like a retractable built-in gate.
