Wenmoor Project Reveal: Luxury Tulsa Estate Refresh

We’re continuing our Luxury Home Refresh Series. Our first post started with Wenmoor II, but today we’re highlighting our Wenmoor Project, another beautiful estate in the same South Tulsa neighborhood.

Our Luxury Tulsa Estate Refresh series highlights how luxury living doesn’t always mean starting from scratch—sometimes, all it takes are intentional, well-designed updates. Our focus is on high-end renovations that feel fresh and revitalized while honoring and embracing the home’s original architecture.

In Northeast Oklahoma, old-world architectural styles—such as French Country, Tudor, Mediterranean, and other classic motifs—were prominent 25–35 years ago. Today, many of these homes feel stuck in a style that no longer reflects our clients’ lifestyles. Throughout this series, Kirkendall Design shows how we take inspiration from each home’s architecture to create timeless interiors that feel modern while preserving their original character.

Wenmoor Project Reveal

Our clients have lived in this beautiful Tuscan-style estate for nearly two decades. With large rooms, high ceilings, and grand architectural details, the home had incredible bones—but the heavy faux finishes, dark tones, and ornate moldings made it feel dated.

Our design goal was to lighten and modernize the Tuscan style while honoring its original elegance. We removed the heavy scrollwork and faux finishes throughout, replacing them with soft, creamy beige walls and ceilings that create a fresh, inviting backdrop. We kept the original flooring and chose colors and finishes that complemented its warmer tones.

With soaring ceilings and expansive rooms, careful space planning was essential in this luxury home. Every piece of furniture, lighting fixture, and artwork was thoughtfully selected for scale and impact, creating a cohesive, functional, and beautifully designed interior.

Living Room

In the living room, we worked with the home’s grand scale to create multiple sitting areas. The original oversized furniture was replaced with thoughtfully proportioned pieces to define conversation areas and maintain balance without overwhelming the space. A beautiful blue sofa draws the eye and connects to the pool just outside. We incorporated a glass fireplace screen and acrylic ottomans to add lightness and a modern edge.

Stairwell Lighting

The new stairwell chandelier is a show-stopping example of how updating your lighting can completely transform your home. Its clean, modern lines and satin brass finish perfectly complement the home’s updated color palette.

Dining Room

With 16-foot ceilings, the dining room initially felt vast and overly formal. To make the space more intimate, we refreshed the paint, added custom window treatments and large-scale wall decor. These elements add texture and softness—creating the perfect space for hosting dinner parties and family gatherings.

The Great Room

The updated home feels brighter and distinctly modern while still embracing its Tuscan architecture. It’s a beautiful example of how a luxury interior design refresh can transform a dated estate into a timeless, livable home—without the need for a full remodel.
