I’ve shared a few photos of our Wood Hollow project on Instagram but am really excited to share it in more detail here today. This was a new construction build in south Tulsa and these client’s wanted a transitional design throughout. The end result was a classic home that feels refined yet casual. Scroll on for a tour…
One of my favorite features in this kitchen is the gorgeous backsplash. In design, we always look for ways to take something ordinary, like a traditional subway tile, and make it extraordinary. So here we went with a textured subway tile, in a shade of polished taupe and installed it in a herringbone pattern.
In the breakfast nook, we started with a table and chairs the client currently owned and added new drapes and a symmetrical chandelier to balance it out. Combining the past with the present is one of the signature ways to achieve a transitional look.
We chose Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter for the wall color in most of the common areas. It’s a great transitional color with warm undertones.
Another personal favorite feature in this home is the great room built-ins. The design was inspired from a bookshelf that I saw in North Carolina over 15 years ago. Love how the geometric shapes add another layer of style and design to the space. Also peep that cabinet hardware!
A wet bar is located in an additional living area just off of the kitchen. The custom built-ins are painted in Sherwin Williams Gauntlet Gray. It’s a beautiful, yet functional way to entertain family and friends.
Getting a chance to replace furniture is a treat for most people, especially if you’ve been married a long time and have had the same furniture for eons. This couple had the opportunity to have a fresh start so we were able to update their bedroom with lighter wood tones. We also chose an overall soft palette throughout, keeping the colors and patterns neutral for a simple, streamlined look.
Thanks for touring Wood Hollow. Check back soon for future project updates and reveals.
