The bed is usually the focal point of any bedroom. Adding a contrasting color or texture behind the bed is a great way to create visual interest. And there are a variety of mediums that can be used to do just that. In this blog, I’ll go over adding art, paneling, contrasting paint and wallpaper to create an impactful feature wall in your bedroom.

Artwork

When hanging art over a bed, we always look at the scale.  Multiple pieces, when hung close together, can be just as impactful as one large piece.

Paneling & Contrasting Paint

Paneled walls can take on a traditional or a modern look.  Moody gray or a rich pop of color will have a modern feel, while white paneling tends to lean more traditional or formal.  Additionally, a contrasting paint color can be used with or without paneling to create interest.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper is back and much more sophisticated than we’ve seen in past decades.  It can be subtle or bold but either way, today’s wallpaper is an art form in its own right, creating visual interest and bringing beautiful texture to the space.

If you’re looking to level up your bedroom, try using a feature wall to customize your space and get a designer look you’ll love!
