Welcome to our Refined-Ranch South project, part two! This remodel was a wonderful collaboration with Terra Nova Properties and was recently featured in Oklahoma Magazine. Today we’re sharing the kitchen and great room. Ready for the reveal?
As with many houses built in the 1980’s, the kitchen was a galley kitchen. There really wasn’t much thought given to entertaining with this design. Opening this space up and creating multiple zones for cooking and entertaining was a priority.
Before
We accomplished this by removing the dropped ceiling and brought the cabinets flush with the ceiling. We also added a nine foot island, equipped with all of today’s best technology.
The original great room was set for entertaining but it was dark and had virtually no view of the backyard. We removed the bar and opened up the wall with a large sliding door system. Check out that view now!
Before
We gave the homeowner a new built-in bar located right off the kitchen.
Floating shelves and additional storage were added to the fireplace, resulting in a sleek modern look.
Pretty art, cozy textiles and accessories complete the look!
This house has a new lease on life and will serve many generations to come.
