Every detail is valuable when remodeling a kitchen. The present state of the space has to be taken into account; the amount of natural light, the size of the room, the architectural set up and most importantly, the client’s wish list! We hear what people call us for and then look for creative ways to address their design issues, which we do by casting a different vision on the face of what they’ve always only seen as problems.
Although there are loads of beautiful details in this kitchen, we whittled it down to five favorites. We hope you love them as much as we do!
LIGHTING
Thankfully no new light needed to be created in this kitchen remodel. There were already beautiful windows to allow natural light into the space. However, the original track lighting had to be replaced. The unusual architecture and vaulted ceiling were real challenges to adding our desired task lighting. It made it difficult to secure the lights parallel with the ceiling, but no task is too hard for dedicated designers and skilled sub-contractors. It turned out perfect!
MIXED METALS
Now that the lighting was sorted, warmth had to be added to the room. By mixing polished nickel with a touch of gold in the lighting, we were able to accomplish just that. These mixed metals take the eyes up to embrace the fullness of the design.
SPACIOUS ISLAND
Our clients love to entertain and their current space just wasn’t cutting it. The original island was considerably smaller than the one we installed. We also got rid of a big portion of the counter top that divided the island and dining room. With more countertop space and more space for friends, this shadow storm granite island was a hit!
STORAGE SPACE
Storage is prime real estate in a kitchen and this posed an additional problem that needed to be solved. How do you create more free space while also creating more storage space? Easy, you just have to manipulate your space the right way to create the most positive experience. We added cabinets against the wall and additional seating on the banquet.
FIRE CLAY BACKSPLASH
Last but certainly not least, the fire clay backsplash adds the element of texture. This design is very popular right now. Its intentional imperfections really make it stand out above other designs as well as make it pleasing to the eye.
The list of features could go on and on, mentioning eye catchers like the beverage center and quartz countertops. These are just a few we thought you might like to know about. Let us know what you think about the finished project!
