There is no better source for inspiration than the one and only High Point Market. Twice a year, I travel to North Carolina to spot trends, get inspired, and purchase products for my clients. This year’s market did not disappoint. I’m excited to share some of the new products from market and show you how we have incorporated the look into a few of our client’s homes.  I hope that you might be inspired as well.

The trend of urban farmhouse was still very prevalent this market. With the queen herself, Joanna Gaines continuing partnerships with many vendors and expanding her furniture line, this was no surprise.

If done correctly, the urban farmhouse trend can make any space more comfortable and livable. Small touches can quickly warm up any room. Here are some of my favorite ways to incorporate the style of urban farmhouse into your home.

Lighting: Make a statement by switching out your current lighting. Lighting can be the “jewelry” to a room, so switching this to more of an urban farmhouse look can dramatically impact the design direction of your home. Look for something with clean lines with a little flair. I love this fixture because of the simple lines and unexpected crystals.

Textures: An easy way to warm up your space is to add textures that lend themselves to the urban farmhouse style. Look for pillows and throws that have patterns and texture to them. Sometimes bringing in global influences into your textures can easily translate to the urban farmhouse look. The rug and coffee table in the picture below both have tons of texture and global influence, which really transform the otherwise simple room.

Accessories: There is no easier or inexpensive way to update your space than through accessories. Simple, usable items are often used as accessories and display in the urban farmhouse style. Books, old or new, are a great filler accessory to use in your display shelves. Pops of white can also make a big impact while keeping things simple.

Furniture: Weathered wood and dramatic hardware are always a good place to start when transitioning your style to urban farmhouse. Look for woods that lend themselves to a greige or driftwood color. Dark, impactful hardware that makes a statement can also increase the warmth of the piece. I love both of these chests for their clean lines, color, and hardware.

By incorporating the urban farmhouse trend in lighting, textures, accessories, and furniture, your space will be dramatically transformed and updated.
